How many of you readers make plans with yourself? Any one else do that? Yeah, I guess that does kind of sound funny, but what I mean is how much alone time do you get? For the last 3 months I have been testing something that has SO worked for me!
I have made plans with me! About 2-3 times a month I set something up for myself. Sometimes it is getting my nails done. Maybe some shopping takes place, or even just grabbing lunch by my self! The list of possibilities is endless ( at the bottom of the blog I will make some suggestions to those who might want to try this!) The reason this worked so well for me was because I'm a person with a hectic life style between working full time and going to school then of course trying to have a social life, and then sleep and other responsibilities leaves limited time for yourself.
I have yet to find a disadvantage to doing this. Like last week, I went to one of my hot spots for lunch, Panera Bread, ( wicked awesome mac & cheese BTW) . Nothing out of the ordinary, I got my usual, mac and cheese and a Caesar salad. I had my phone and backpack with me, and enjoyed lunch. I then fired up my laptop and scrolled through some clothing sites, order Christmas presents and trolled Facebook. It was nice.
By doing this it allows my brain to detox from all the bullshit of everyday life. I get some thinking done, planning done, and even accomplish a few things. It rejuvenates my mind and body to keep going. I feel like it balances life out a little bit. Most of us wake up with a to do list that is never ending, and you still got to work, and keep up with the house, tend to your significant other, if you have kids that's a whole other ball game, family to tend to, pets. Sometimes we need to just get away from it all. I really suggest making time for yourself. No it doesn't need to be a weekly thing, but I strongly feel at least once a month there should be a day where you and only you hang out.
